🍳 Quick & Easy — Oven-Braised Brisket with Onions

Ingredients:

1 brisket (3–4 lbs)

Salt and pepper

1 tbsp olive oil

2 large onions, sliced

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup beef broth
-
2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar

1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 300°F.

Season brisket well with salt and pepper. Sear in a Dutch oven until browned. Remove and set aside.

Sauté onions and garlic until softened. Stir in tomato paste and vinegar.

Add broth and thyme, then return brisket to pot. Cover.

Braise in oven for 3 hours, until tender.

Let rest 15 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve with juices.

Instructions:

Optional: Sear brisket on all sides in a pan with oil.

Layer carrots, celery, onion, and garlic in bottom of slow cooker.

Place brisket on top. Whisk together broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire; pour over meat.

Add bay leaf. Cover and cook on low for 8 hrs.
