About Deliveries Team
Deliveries Team provides ecological and organic farms in the Ottawa/Gatineau area with the ability to offer refrigerated home delivery of their farm goods to their customers. Deliveries Team works as an extension of farms and organic food businesses such as Juniper Farm, Ferme Grazing Days Farm, and Farmhouse Food and looks after the logistics and communications related to the home delivery of goods from these farms and local food businesses.
Deliveries Team was started at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic by Paul, a full-time farmer behind Ferme Grazing Days Farm and Alex, the all-star delivery driver at Ferme Grazing Days Farm.
Paul has always been a fan of home delivery, because a carefully planned home delivery route is very fuel efficient (and ecologically friendly) compared to individual customers travelling to a farm or farmers market to purchase their good.
When COVID-19 hit, many farms were struggling to figure out how they would get their farm fresh products to people. Since Ferme Grazing Days Farm had 10+ years of home delivery under their belt, many farms (and other small businesses) were reaching out to Grazing Days to find out more about how to do home delivery. Paul and Alex decided to start Deliveries Team to help these local organic / ecological farms and food businesses deliver their goods to homes.
Job description:
Deliveries Team is currently looking to hire a delivery driver to join our team. This driver will make home deliveries on behalf of our farm clients and understand that they are brand ambassadors and most likely the only face-to face contact the customer will have with the farm. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of farm-to-table values.
Tasks will include:
- Driving of a reefer cargo van (model Ford Transit)
- Navigating via GPS
- Long workday shifts (more than 9 hours per day)
- Long shifts are followed by a rest day
- Flexible schedule (Work-family balancing possible to a certain extent)
- Opportunity of working for a business promoting local and organic/ ecological food
- First week of training/mentoring will be followed by a three (3) months probation period
Responsibilities:
- Loading the cargo van at the beginning of the day and/or at the various client farms.
- Delivering packages at their final destination (customer)
- Managing deliveries, routing, and customer support through the supplied technology and software.
- Cleaning the cab at the end of the day
- End-of-the-day oral debriefing
- Rigorously following our Covid-19 safety and health protocols
Qualifications and requirements:
- At least 21 years of age
- Bilingual (an asset)
- 5A class license required
- Good driving experience (urban and rural settings)
- Commercial driving experience (an asset)
- Comfortable with technology
- Impeccable driving record
- No criminal record
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pound boxes
- Comfortable at working alone for long hours
- Good orientation skills
- Basic knowledge of the Ottawa region road network (an asset)

Location: City of Gatineau, (Near Montée Paiement and Autoroute 50)
Work schedule:
- Variable depending on season and demand (usually 30 to 40 hours per week)
- The candidate must be available to work on Saturdays

L’entreprise Deliveries Team est une PME naissante ayant comme mission de fournir des services de livraison abordables aux petits agriculteurs locaux. Contrairement aux distributeurs alimentaires, celle-ci se spécialise exclusivement dans le transport direct au consommateur.
Pour compléter son équipe, Deliveries Team est à la recherche de la perle rare qui
saura voir au delà de la tâche de livraison et qui sera prête à agir comme ambassadeur de
marque. Puisque Deliveries Team est le seul lien entre la ferme et la table du client, le
candidat doit reconnaitre le rôle important qu’il joue lors de ses interactions avec celui-ci.
Description du poste:
- Conduite d’un camion réfrigéré (modèle Ford Transit)
- Navigation via GPS
- Quarts de travail de plus de 9 heures fréquents
- Les quarts longs sont suivis d’une journée de repos
- Horaire flexible (conciliation travail-famille possible)
- Opportunité de travailler avec une entreprise d’économie locale, responsable et en croissance.
- Accompagnement/formation pour une semaine, suivie d’une période de probation de 3 mois
Tâches et responsabilités :
- Charger le camion en début de journée et chez les différents clients visités (fermes)
- Livrer les colis à leur destination finale
- Gérer les livraisons, la navigation et les contacts clients via le système informatique fourni.
- Nettoyer l’habitacle du véhicule à la fin de la journée
- Faire un compte rendu verbal de la journée à la fin du quart
- Suivre le protocole établi en réponse à la Covid-19
Profil recherché :
- 21 ans ou plus
- Bilinguisme (un atout)
- Possède un permis de conduire valide (5A)
- Bonne expérience de conduite (urbaine et rurale)
- Expérience en conduite commerciale (un atout)
- À l’aise avec les nouvelles technologies
- Dossier de conduite impeccable
- Aucun antécédent judiciaire ou dossier criminel
- Apte à soulever des charges allant jusqu’à 40Lb
- À l’aise à travailler seul sur de longues heures
- Possède un bon sens de l’orientation
- Connaissance de base du réseau routier de la région d’Ottawa (un atout)
