How to Cook Sirloin Steak — Two Recipes


Name of Cut: Sirloin Steak
Cut Details: 2 steaks per pack, ~1" thick, boneless, moderately lean with good beefy flavour. Pack weight ~400–600g.
Best For: Grilling, pan-searing, or stir-frying when sliced thinly.

🍳 Quick & Easy — Sirloin Stir-Fry

Serves: 2–3
Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 10 min

Ingredients:

  • 2 sirloin steaks (~500g)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil or olive oil

  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • Optional: green onions or sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Slice steak thinly across the grain.

  2. Marinate in soy sauce, oil, garlic, and honey for 10 min.

  3. Heat pan over medium-high. Stir-fry beef 2–3 min. Remove.

  4. Stir-fry vegetables 4–5 min. Return beef to pan.

  5. Serve with rice or noodles.


🍷 Slow & Savoury — Balsamic Marinated Sirloin

Serves: 2
Prep Time: 15 min (plus 4 hr marinade) | Cook Time: 10–12 min

Ingredients:

  • 2 sirloin steaks

  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Combine marinade ingredients. Marinate steaks 4–8 hrs.

  2. Preheat grill or pan. Cook 4–5 min per side for medium-rare.

  3. Rest 5–7 min. Slice thinly and serve.

🐄 Grass-fed Tip: Sirloin is leaner and best when marinated or cooked quickly over medium heat. Slice across the grain to keep it tender.
